Dr. Mariah Jones-Greif was born and raised in Saline County, where she graduated high school and later completed medical school. Now in her final year of obstetrics and gynecology training, and known to her patients and colleagues as simply Dr. Jones, she is looking forward to the next chapter of her life: returning to her roots to raise her family and practice medicine.
“I had an amazing childhood. I grew up in rural Saline County and graduated from Ell-Saline high school. I worked at the hospital as a CNA during high school and that’s where my passion for helping people through medicine was born,” Dr. Jones said.
Dr. Jones, who will be joining Mowery Women’s Clinic in August of 2023, is overjoyed to be returning home.
“When presented with the opportunity to come back to Salina, my husband and I didn’t have to think twice about it. This community afforded many opportunities throughout my childhood and I am honored to return home and practice medicine,” she said. “It is a dream come true for me.”
Dr. Jones never drifted too far from Salina. She completed her undergraduate degree at Kansas State University in Manhattan, studying Biology/Pre-Medicine and Leadership Studies. She then attended medical school at KU School of Medicine – Salina and is now completing her residency and ob-gyn training at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.
Dr. Jones delights in the opportunity to build relationships with her patients.
“I can’t imagine doing anything other than obstetrics and gynecology, where I’m blessed to build lifelong relationships with my patients. It’s a privilege to stand alongside them on the best days of their lives, comfort them during some of their most difficult days, and everything in between.” Dr. Jones said.
As an Ob-Gyn, Dr. Jones sees females from adolescents through geriatrics.
“Salina is home, where I look forward to running into familiar faces, connecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and taking care of generations of women. I have an incredibly supportive husband and family, and that allows me to do what I love every day. I am excited to give back to the community that raised me. It really is an honor to be returning home,” she said.
